- Month: Chaitra, Vaishakha, Jyeshtha, Ashadha, Magha and Phalguna, counted new moon to new moon (amanta). Ashadha only until Devshayani Ekadashi begins (24 July 2026, 07:43), when Chaturmas starts. Shravana, Bhadrapada, Ashwin, Kartika, Margashirsha and Pausha are closed, and so is any adhika month.
- Weekday: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday (the Vedic weekday, which changes at sunrise). Never Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday.
