• 1 March The Moon is in Jyeshtha — none of them among the 10 nakshatras permitted for karnavedha (ear piercing).
• 2 March Tuesday — the rules never fix a karnavedha (ear piercing) on a Sunday, a Tuesday or a Saturday.
• 3–4 March The Moon is in Purva Ashadha and Uttara Ashadha — none of them among the 10 nakshatras permitted for karnavedha (ear piercing).
• 6–7 March Saturday and Sunday — the rules never fix a karnavedha (ear piercing) on a Sunday, a Tuesday or a Saturday.
• 8 March The Moon is in Shatabhisha and Purva Bhadrapada — none of them among the 10 nakshatras permitted for karnavedha (ear piercing).
• 9 March Tuesday — the rules never fix a karnavedha (ear piercing) on a Sunday, a Tuesday or a Saturday.
• 12 March A permitted nakshatra falls only in Shukla Chaturthi, which the rules exclude for karnavedha (ear piercing).
• 13–14 March Saturday and Sunday — the rules never fix a karnavedha (ear piercing) on a Sunday, a Tuesday or a Saturday.
• 15–31 March Kharmas (the Sun in Meena) runs from Meena Sankranti (15 March 2027) to Mesha Sankranti (14 April 2027).

• Where these rules come from: the karnavedha rules Drik Panchang states, which follow the sanskara chapter of Muhurta Chintamani. Drik answers one day at a time against a child's birth details and publishes no year list, so the rules are applied here to every day of the year and the list is this page's own.
• Kharmas is closed: no date while the Sun is in Dhanu (Sagittarius) or Meena (Pisces) (16 December 2026 – 14 January 2027, 15 March 2027 – 14 April 2027 and 16 December 2027 – 15 January 2028).
• Chaturmas is closed: from the moment Devshayani Ekadashi begins (13 July 2027, 12:09 PM) to the moment Devuthani Ekadashi begins (9 November 2027, 7:35 AM).
• Weekday: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday (the Vedic weekday, which changes at sunrise). Never Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday.
• Nakshatra: the Moon in one of these 10 — Ashwini, Mrigashira, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, Anuradha, Shravana, Dhanishta and Revati.
• Tithi: any tithi of either fortnight except Chaturthi, Navami, Chaturdashi or Amavasya.
• An adhika month is closed: there is no adhika month in 2027.
• By day, before aparahna: the ears are pierced in daylight and before aparahna, the fourth of the day's five parts — so every window here ends at the close of madhyahna, three fifths of the way from sunrise to sunset.
• Age — guidance, not computed: the texts give the 10th, 12th or 16th day after birth, or the 6th, 7th or 8th month; after the first year, an odd year — the third, the fifth. Many families now hold it with the mundan. Settle the age by custom; this list gives the day.
• Which ear first: a boy's right ear first, a girl's left.
• The day: sunrise to the next sunrise, for New Delhi. A day any closed period touches is left out whole; inside the days that remain, the muhurat is the time when every condition above holds at once, for at least 20 minutes.
• Not checked here: the lagna (one ruled by Jupiter or Venus — Vrishabha, Tula, Dhanu or Meena — is preferred), the child's Chandra bala and Tara bala, and the child's own birth month and birth nakshatra, which are avoided. A priest checks these against the child's birth details.
