Start and end
Nakshatra start and end time — 7 October 2026
A nakshatra is one of the 27 equal 13°20′ segments of the Moon's path, so it begins and ends at one instant for everyone; the Moon takes about 19 to 27 hours to cross one. The nakshatra at sunrise is the one a panchang prints for the day, and the one muhurat tables read.

Each nakshatra has four padas of 3°20′, so the pada changes roughly every quarter of the nakshatra's span. The lord is the Vimshottari dasha lord — the planet whose dasha a child born in this nakshatra begins in.
