Symbolic prompts
Lo Shu birth grid
The calculation places digits from your birth date in a 3 by 3 grid. Numerology tradition treats repeated and missing digits as symbolic prompts; the grid does not test abilities or personality.
Traditional associations
These are customary numerology associations. They do not make a day, colour or date objectively lucky and cannot promise an outcome.

The basics
Your day of birth, reduced to one digit. It is traditionally read as your immediate style and first response.
Every digit in your full birth date is added together and the total is reduced. Numerology tradition reads the result as a longer life theme.
Letters in your name are converted with the Pythagorean or Chaldean table, added and reduced. Practitioners traditionally associate the result with expression and presentation.
Start with the full name you normally use. You can calculate again with a birth name or professional name to compare how each letter pattern changes.
Both use the same birth-date calculations but assign different values to letters. Pythagorean follows a repeating 1 to 9 sequence; Chaldean uses a traditional sound-based 1 to 8 mapping.
No reliable evidence shows that these number patterns predict an event. Use the interpretation as a reflective tradition, not as certainty or a substitute for medical, legal or financial advice.
Numbers and numerology
Numerology is called अंक ज्योतिष (ank jyotish). Your Birth Number is मूलांक (Mulank), and your Life Path is commonly called भाग्यांक (Bhagyank). Both come from the birth date; a Rashi comes from astrology and is calculated differently.
Use this calculator for the complete set, or the date-of-birth calculator when you only want Mulank and Bhagyank.
The number meanings reference consolidates number 1 through number 9 on one authoritative page, with ruling planets, strengths, challenges and practical prompts.
Leo or Singh, Mithun and Tula are Rashis, not numerology totals. Start with how to find your Rashi, then use the daily Rashi horoscope. A daily “lucky number” is a symbolic prompt, not a guaranteed outcome.
Work through it number by number
The Lo Shu grid arranges the digits of your birth date on a 3x3 square.
Every letter carries a value. Add them and you get the Expression number; the vowels alone give Soul Urge, the consonants give Personality.
No name needed. Your birth date alone gives the two numbers Indian numerology leans on most: Mulank, the reduced day, and Bhagyank, the reduced full date.
Chaldean numerology assigns letter values by sound rather than alphabetical order, and never assigns 9 - it is treated as sacred and appears only as a total.
The calculation is the same as a personal name - it is the reading that differs, because a business name is judged on how it sits with the founder's own numbers.
These come from your Mulank and its ruling planet, not from a random draw - which is why the page also shows why each number, day and colour is on your list.
Numerology reads time in nine-year cycles. A 1 year opens something; a 9 year closes it.
Four numbers - 13, 14, 16 and 19 - are singled out in numerology as carrying a lesson.
One section per number, with the ruling planet and the traits each is traditionally given.
Both systems, one table. Pythagorean runs 1-9 in alphabetical order; Chaldean assigns by sound and omits 9.
The whole profile in one place, rather than one number at a time.
