What this set is for
It is a shortlist for choosing dates — which day to sign, launch, travel or begin something you have been putting off. It is not a wager. Nothing in this calculation changes the odds of a lottery, a card, a dice roll or any other game of chance, and it should never be used as though it does.
The derivation
Where each list actually comes from.
Your Mulank is the day of the month you were born on, reduced to one digit. Born on the 14th? 1 + 4 = 5. Born on the 23rd? 2 + 3 = 5 as well. The month and year are not used. Every day, colour and date below hangs off that single digit, through the planet the tradition assigns to it.

The days are named after the planets
Sunday belongs to the Sun, Monday to the Moon, Tuesday to Mars, Wednesday to Mercury, Thursday to Jupiter, Friday to Venus and Saturday to Saturn — in Sanskrit as in English. That accounts for the first day in every row: Mulank 9 is Mars, so Tuesday leads. The extra days come from planets the tradition treats as friendly to yours. Those secondary days are the part that varies between books; this page uses the common Cheiro-derived list rather than pretending there is only one.
Rahu and Ketu have no weekday
Numbers 4 and 7 are given to Rahu and Ketu, which are not bodies at all — they are the two points where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's, the places eclipses happen. No day of the week is named after a point. So those two rows borrow: 4 takes the Sun's day and Saturn's, 7 takes the Sun's and the Moon's, the two lights the nodes eclipse.
Why the dates repeat every nine days
Your dates are simply every date in the month that reduces to your Mulank: your number, then plus nine, plus nine again. Mulank 5 gets the 5th, 14th and 23rd. Mulank 4 gets the 4th, 13th, 22nd and 31st. Reduction is arithmetic modulo nine, so two dates nine apart always land on the same digit. Numbers 1 to 4 get four dates a month and 5 to 9 get three, purely because months stop at 31.
Colours are the planet's, not yours
The colour list is the traditional palette of your ruling planet — Saturn's black and dark blue, Mars's reds, the Moon's white and silver — the same associations used for gemstone and thread advice. It is a symbolic link, not a claim about how you look in the colour.
This does not improve odds in games of chance
A lottery draw, a dice roll, a card and a coin do not know your birth date. Those events are independent of everything above, so no arrangement of these numbers raises your chance of winning — and anyone selling you lottery numbers derived from a date of birth is selling odds you already had. What the tradition actually uses this set for is choosing when to do something: which of two workable dates to sign on, which weekday to open, what colour to wear to a meeting that matters to you. For timing with an astronomical basis rather than an arithmetical one, the Panchang, Choghadiya and Hora pages are the real instruments — they are computed from the actual positions of the Sun and Moon on the day you ask about.
Two people can share the whole list
Everyone born on the 5th, 14th or 23rd of any month, in any year, has Mulank 5 — and therefore an identical set of days, colours and dates. That is roughly one person in nine. A list shared with hundreds of millions of people is a preference you can act on, not a fact about your future.
What changes and what does not
Mulank and Bhagyank are fixed for life; they come from a date that has already happened. The personal year in the third card does move, because it adds the current calendar year to your day and month, and it rolls over on 1 January in the reckoning used here. Common lucky number questions
Are these numbers for lottery or gambling?
No. Nothing in numerology improves the odds of a game of chance, and we would not suggest treating it that way. These are traditionally used for choosing dates, not for betting.
Why does my lucky number change day to day?
The core numbers from your birth date do not change. The personal day number does, because it is calculated from today's date as well as yours.
Can two people share lucky numbers?
Yes, and commonly do. They derive from the birth date, so anyone with the same reduced day shares them.
