The full method converts letters with the existing Chaldean table and adds the printed digits. The comparison method ignores letters. Both totals are shown before reduction.
- Normalize the printed registration to A–Z letters and digits; ignore spaces and hyphens.
- For the full result, convert letters with the displayed Chaldean table and add the digits.
- For the comparison result, add only the printed digits, then reduce both totals separately.

Worked example: MH 01 AB 1234
Using M=4, H=5, A=1 and B=2, the full registration totals 23 and reduces to 5. Its printed digits total 11 and reduce to 2. The two roots differ because they answer two stated conventions.
