Rahu · 6th House (Ari/Enemies/Disease)
Rahu in the 6th House
Rahu in the 6th devours its opponents: the classical texts count the 6th as its strongest house, where it defeats enemies, overcomes debt and disease and gains wealth through competition.

- The planet
- Rahu: the Moon's north node, a shadow planet with no sign of its own — the significator of ambition, foreign things, technology, obsession and the unconventional; it gives the results of its sign lord and of the house it occupies

Ketu sits in the 12th, adding a quiet spiritual streak.
Law, medicine, service and competitive fields suit it; the cautions are hard-to-diagnose complaints and bending rules to win.
Which sign falls in the 6th house depends on the lagna, and the sign changes Rahu's strength there. For a Sagittarius (Dhanu) lagna this house holds Taurus (Vrishabha), where Rahu is exalted; for a Gemini (Mithuna) lagna it holds Scorpio (Vrishchika), where it is debilitated. The texts disagree on the nodes' exaltation signs; the table follows the convention the site's kundli uses, and a node also gives the results of its sign lord.

Rahu mahadasha runs 18 years. This placement speaks most clearly then — in Rahu's own mahadasha, in its antardashas inside other mahadashas, and in the dasha of the lord of the 6th house. Saturn's and Jupiter's transits over this house, or over the planet itself, wake it too.

- Chant the Rahu mantra: Om Bhraam Bhreem Bhraum Sah Rahave Namah. Sit facing east after sunrise — Saturday is the strongest day for it. Chant 5 malas a day (540 repetitions), keeping count on a 108-bead mala. Keep it up for 40 days without a break — that completes the traditional 18,000.
- Give a Rahu donation. Give urad dal, blue cloth, blanket on Saturday, before noon. Offer it to someone the world overlooks, or to anyone in genuine need. Give quietly, in person, without expecting thanks.
- Daily practice for Rahu. Keep silver or elephant motifs at home; avoid second-hand items in the bedroom. Keep it up every day for 40 days — consistency is the remedy.
