Surya mantra
ॐ ह्रां ह्रीं ह्रौं सः सूर्याय नमः
7,000 japa · Sunday
Every graha mantra here carries its traditional japa count, the daily load that completes it in a 40-day mandala, and the next hora of that graha in your city today, worked out from local sunrise. The deity mantras and name lists are traditional Sanskrit texts, each checked against two independent editions before it was published.
One beej (seed) mantra for each graha, with the total it is traditionally chanted to and the day it belongs to. Open a graha for its daily count, its verse from the Navagraha Stotra and its hora today.

Japa is counted on a mala of 108 beads with one larger bead, the meru, that is not counted. One pass round the mala is one mala: 108 repetitions. At the meru the mala is turned round rather than crossed, and the next pass begins.
A graha mantra's total — 7,000 for Surya, 23,000 for Shani — is traditionally completed within a mandala of 40 days. The number that matters each morning is therefore the daily load, and every graha page states it: the total divided by 40 days, rounded up to whole malas.
Mantra practice is part of a tradition of reflection and discipline. It is not a substitute for medical, legal or financial help.
