What is the next vrat or festival?

See the observances coming up for your city, then open any festival for its local tithi, puja window and calendar explanation.

Timings on this page are computed for Pune.

Show all cities

Every date on this page is recomputed for the city you pick. Festivals decided at moonrise or at pradosh are the ones most likely to move by a day between two cities.

Plan the days ahead

Dates follow the local sunrise, tithi and each festival’s deciding moment. That is why the same observance can occasionally fall on a neighbouring date in another city.

The next fasting days

These observances repeat every lunar fortnight or month. Open one for the exact tithi start and end in Pune.

Shubh muhurat today

No named muhurta window is running at this moment.

The Vedic day runs from sunrise to sunrise. Festival-specific puja muhurats can be narrower; those appear on each festival page.

A festival is a lunar rule, not a fixed Gregorian date

Each rule names a lunar month, paksha and tithi, plus the moment that decides the observance. Most vrats follow sunrise, while Diwali uses pradosh, Maha Shivratri uses nishita, Ganesh Chaturthi uses madhyahna and Karwa Chauth ends at moonrise.

We calculate those conditions for the selected city. When a tithi is skipped or two traditions differ, the individual festival page says so instead of presenting one unexplained date.
